Is logo one class and the name another class when it comes to trademark registration?

No. Classes cover goods and services, not types of trademark. A wordmark and a figurative mark for the same brand would both be registered in the same class or classes, since they cover the same commercial activity.

The distinction between a wordmark and a figurative mark is the type of sign being protected, not the class. Both a wordmark for "ACME" and a figurative mark for the ACME logo would be registered in Class 9 (for example) if the business operates in that class.
