Is there a way to update our trademark registration if we decide to alter our logo?

No, you can’t change a registered figurative trademark to include a new version of your logo. The registration only covers what’s exactly in the application, and any change to the design means the new version falls outside the scope of the existing registration.

In line with that, if you update your logo, a new trademark application must be filed for the updated version. The original registration will still cover the old version until it expires or is abandoned or withdrawn. If you do file another application, both registrations can run concurrently during a transition period.
