A logo trademark is a figurative mark that protects the visual elements of a logo used to identify a brand, product, or service. It grants the owner exclusive rights to the visual design as represented in the application, preventing others from using that same image (or a confusingly similar one) in connection with the same or adjacent goods or services.

Protection covers the visual element as shown, so if the mark includes text alongside a logo, registering it as a combined mark (name and logo together) provides protection for both elements as a unit, though this does not separately protect the name as a wordmark.
