What colour version of the logo should I choose when registering a trademark?

It depends on the jurisdiction.

In the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, filing in black and white is generally recommended, as it is considered to cover all color implementations of the same design. A color filing in these jurisdictions restricts protection to the specific colors shown.

In most other jurisdictions, including the EU and UK, the recommendation is to file the version you use most frequently in commerce. If the color combination is a distinctive and integral part of the logo's identity, filing in color may better reflect what you are actually protecting.
