Why do I need to sign the Power of Attorney to register a trademark?

Founder & Trademark Attorney

The Power of Attorney formally authorizes your legal representative to act on your behalf before the IP office. Without it, the representative has no legal authority to file the application, respond to office actions, or handle any correspondence with the IP office in your name.

It also protects you: the PoA defines the scope of the authority granted. Actions taken by the representative within that scope are legally binding on you as the trademark owner.
