Trademarks are registered by the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) of the relevant country; a government body responsible for administering IP rights including trademarks, patents, and designs.

Each country has its own IP office. Well-known examples include the USPTO (United States), EUIPO (European Union), UKIPO (United Kingdom), IP Australia, CIPO (Canada), CNIPA (China), and JPO (Japan). Most IP offices have their own online filing portals and publicly searchable trademark databases.
