I'm waiting for an investment and prefer to pay for a trademark after getting the money. What would be the best way to protect my brand?

The most practical option is to file a trademark application in your primary market as soon as possible, even before the investment arrives. Filing establishes a priority date, which protects you against anyone who files a similar mark afterward. The investment does not need to be in place before you file.

If budget is the constraint, start with a single jurisdiction and a single class covering your core business activity. Additional markets and classes can be added through new applications later. A modest initial registration provides meaningful protection at a fraction of the cost of full multi-country coverage.
