Yes. In most jurisdictions, the government fee for a trademark application covers one class, with each additional class charged separately. The more classes included, the higher the total filing cost.

Some jurisdictions use stepped pricing (the EU charges a lower rate for the second class and a higher rate from the third onward); others charge a flat per-class rate regardless of quantity. The cost per additional class varies significantly between IP offices, from around €50 to €250 in the EU to $420 per class in the US.
