The cost of trademark opposition proceedings depends on the jurisdiction, the complexity of the case, and whether the matter is resolved by settlement or proceeds to a full hearing.

In the US, the official fee for filing a notice of opposition is $600 per class. In the EU, it is €320. Legal representation fees are additional and depend on the attorney's rates and the volume of work required. An opposition resolved by settlement in the early stages costs significantly less than one that proceeds to full TTAB or EUIPO proceedings.

If you have received a notice of opposition, get an assessment of the case from a trademark attorney before committing to a strategy.
