Where should I get a trademark?

Business owners should primarily register a trademark in the countries where they operate, manufacture, or plan to expand. Trademark rights are territorial, and protection in one jurisdiction does not extend to others.

You should register as early as possible to prevent unauthorized use by third parties. To minize the initial cost, a phased approach starting with one jurisdiction and expanding over time is recommended.

Each registration requires a separate application filed with the IP office of the relevant country or region.
