The ™ symbol can be used next to a mark at any time, even before registration. It is used to indicate your claim of the trademark, the intention to register it, and it provides a notice to others that the mark is being used as a trademark. However, it does not confirm that the mark is registered.

The ® symbol should only be used after the mark has been officially registered with the relevant trademark authority. It signals that the mark is a registered trademark and carries the full legal protections that come with registration.
