What does the trademark symbol ™ mean?

The ™ symbol indicates that a word, phrase, logo, or symbol is being used as a trademark and that the owner is claiming exclusive rights to use it in connection with their goods or services.

The symbol does not indicate that the trademark has been registered. It is typically used to signal that an application is in progress or that trademark rights are being asserted informally.
