A trademark registration remains in effect for 10 years from the filing date and can be renewed indefinitely. It can also be cancelled before its expiry if the owner fails to demonstrate genuine use for a continuous five-year period, or in the US, if the required Declaration of Use is not filed between the 5th and 6th year.
