A trademark certificate is only issued after an application goes through all stages of registration and is formally registered. Depending on the jurisdiction, this process takes around 3 months in the fastest regions, up to 18-20 months, and even longer in the slowest regions.

However, once registration is confirmed, most IP offices will issue the certificate within a few weeks. Some offices do not issue physical certificates automatically, since digital certificates have become the norm. The registration number and entry in the public register serve as proof of ownership for most practical purposes.
