The total registration process typically takes between 3 months and 2 years, but several factors can influence the actual timeline for your filing. Factors such as the jurisdiction in which you're filing, the IP office's current workload, and whether any office actions or oppositions have been filed all play a role.

Faster jurisdictions (BENELUX, France, EU) can register unchallenged marks in 3-5 months. Slower jurisdictions (the US, Canada, Brazil, South Africa) regularly take 12 to 24 months or more. If an issue that requires a formal response arises, it extends the timeline regardless of which jurisdiction you are filing in.
