The total time to registration always depends on the specific jurisdiction and whether or not any issues arise. It can take anywhere from 3 months to well over a year.

In straightforward cases with no office actions or oppositions, the typically faster jurisdictions are BENELUX, France, and the EU, where the complete process takes around 3-6 months. Slower jurisdictions (the US, Canada, South Africa) regularly take 12 to 24 months or more. If an office action is issued or an opposition is filed, the timeline extends further regardless of jurisdiction.
