A website screenshot can be a proper specimen of use if it meets the following requirements:

  • The specimen and the mark must be legible and not cropped.
  • The mark on the specimen must match the originally filed mark.
  • The screenshot mustn’t be altered or edited, e.g., a mockup or digitally modified image.
  • For goods: the page must show the mark in association with the goods and include a means of purchasing them (price, shopping cart, or order button). The screenshot must include the URL and date.
  • For services: the page must show the mark used in advertising or rendering the specific services listed in the application.
