Are there any costs associated with specimen submission?

The cost depends on how the specimen is submitted.

For use-in-commerce applications, the specimen is submitted as part of the initial filing at no additional cost beyond the standard filing fee.

For intent-to-use applications, the specimen is submitted later with a Statement of Use, which carries a fee of $150 (Kč 3,800) per class. Each extension of time before filing the Statement of Use costs an additional $150 per class.

After registration, specimens submitted with the Declaration of Use (5th–6th year) cost $225 per class. Combined with the 10-year renewal, the fee is $525 per class. These are government fees; representative fees apply additionally if you file through a legal service.
