What can I submit as a specimen?

The acceptable specimen depends on whether the trademark is used in connection with goods or services.

For goods: a photograph of the actual product bearing the mark, the product packaging or label showing the mark, or a screenshot of a product webpage showing the mark alongside the goods for sale (including the URL and date). The mark must be visible and directly associated with the goods.

For services: a screenshot of a website where the mark is used in the advertising or provision of the services (including the URL and date), printed marketing materials such as brochures or leaflets, or business signage showing the mark in connection with the services.

In both cases, the specimen mustn’t be altered or edited. So, if you’re submitting photos of your products, they should be real-life, unedited photos, rather than the ones you use in your marketing. Mockups, renderings, and digitally added logos are not acceptable.
