Is there a difference between goods and services items in different countries?

Yes. The structure of the goods and services section might be the same because the Nice Classification provides a common 45-class framework used by most countries, but the terminology used to describe goods and services within those classes varies across IP offices.

For example, the EUIPO, USPTO, and IP Australia each maintain their own accepted goods and services databases. If your description is considered precise enough for one office, it may be considered too vague or unrecognized by another. When filing in multiple jurisdictions, it’s recommended that you tailor each goods and services description to avoid receiving a formal office action.
