Processing times for trademark renewal depend on the jurisdiction, but they’re typically faster than the initial registration. The process doesn’t include examination, so it’s generally done within a few months.

During renewal, your trademark is still fully protected, but you have to file the renewal within the set deadline. If you wait for the registration to lapse, you enter the grace period, where your trademark stays unprotected for a period until you renew it. This is another reason to file early rather than wait until the deadline expires.
